Rio Grande County Public Health Agency has now moved into the second priority of H1N1 vaccines.

Upcoming Clinics:

Ÿ January 7 from 2-5pm in Monte Vista at the Church of Christ located at 200 Franklin Street

Ÿ January 15 from 1-3pm, in Del Norte at the Courthouse Annex

Ÿ January 21 from 12-2pm, in South Fork at the Community Building

These will be for the following vaccines:

H1N1 Vaccine for adults and children

Seasonal flu vaccine  (while supplies last)

Pneumonia Vaccines

The H1N1 vaccine is free. The seasonal vaccine for children is $10 and $20 for adults.  Children’s Medicaid is accepted and Medicare is accepted.

Annual epidemics of influenza occur typically during the late fall and winter seasons.  Influenza viruses can cause illness among persons in any age group.  Getting an influenza vaccination (a flu shot) is the most effective way to prevent getting the flu.
